The Peace Cup final would hold on Sunday, 6 August 2023 at the Akinola football pitch, Aboru, Alimosho, Lagos.
The final would be played between Ottasolo Football Club and Young Elite Football Club.
To reach the final stage, Ottasolo defeated Future Hero 5-4 on penalties after one goal apiece at the regulation time, while Young Elite walloped Sunday Morning Stars FC 6-2 to book a place in the final.
Tournament cordinator, Dr Kolade Kolapo explained that the closing ceremony would be glamorous as football fans and some invited guests from far and near are expected to grace the occasion.
He disclosed that awards would be given to outstanding players and those who have contributed immensely to the success of the competition. He noted that prize money and medals would be presented to the winners and the first runners up.
“Peace Cup final is the talk of the town in Alimosho. We are expecting full house and some members of the Ikeja Divisional Football Association IDFA and Lagos State Football Association to be in attendance. Aside this, we have invited club owners, managers and football agents who are our friends to come and grace the occasion. All I can say is that it is going to be a glamorous closing ceremony,” he said.
Meanwhile three players would be fighting for the highest goal scorer award on the final days. Ifeanyi Ogba from Ottasolo scored 6 goals. Akinola Dami from Young Elites also scored six goals as Falolu Wasiu from Young Elites recorded five goals so far in the competition.
