Leader of Oto Awori Football Coaches Council, Osondu Martins has informed the task force commiittee to start raiding and possible arrest non-affiliated coaches who fail to register under his council as from today.
In a statement issued to the media Monday morning, Martins said the executive members of the council which I am leading met recently and resolved to arrest some coaches who are not affiliated with the council, adding that most of these non- affiliated coaches are handling clubs which is contrary to the rules of the council and state body.
“Oto Awori Football Coaches Council will start making immediate arrest of none affiliated football coaches under its jurisdiction as from today (Monday). We have informed them severally to come and register with the sum of N15,000 but it seems that they are taking us for granted.
“We have set up a task force commiittee and they would be in various football pitches from today and any coach who is not our member and tutoring a team would be arrested and handover to police station. It is going to be tough for non affiliated coaches unless they do the needful,”he said.
Martins also expressed his displeasure in the attitude of some persons who claimed to be a football coach without being registered under the Lagos State Football Coaches Association, LSFCA saying that they are still operating in the Oto Awori axis as coaches
Martins confirmed that the council had informed some police stations under his jurisdiction about the council plans, and they promised to work with the coach’s council.
Among the stations working with Oto Awori Football Coaches Council are The Ajangbadi Police Station, Okoko Police Station, Ijanikin Police Station, Ojo Volks Police Station and Morogbo Police Station.
