Football coaches, referees, club owners and other stakeholders in the industry are expected to attend inaugural Badagry Divisional Football Congress meeting under the leadership of Dr Osondu Martins Ibegbu.
The much anticipated congress would hold on Saturday noon at the Ashiribo Car wash, Ijanikin, Badagry Road.
In a statement signed by division secretary, Adegesin Zainab stated that the meeting is set up to discuss more about the football policy of Lagos State Football Association, LSFA under the leadership of Fuad Oki and newly elected board members.
Zainab noted that the congress would deliberate more on the need to see how some football competitions that have been abadoned for years would be revived in Badagry and its environs.
Part of the agenda would be discussed are establishment of local football council, school sports, junior league, street soccer, IBILE Cup, principal cup and oba cup.
The newly elected Badagry DFA chairman,Osondu in his own comment said the congress is very necessary and important for all the football stakeholders in Badagry and its environs saying that so that decision would be taken collectively not division.
He disclosed that his administration would run inclusive government throughout his tenure ans urged the stakeholders to give the him support to achieve set targets.
“Th new board members are resolved to run inclusive government.We call this congress to allow football stakeholders to bring their ideas that can be useful to this administration.
“Also we want to use this congress to have a good relationship with other football stakeholders because my plans for Badagry DFA is to bring those who are far and near back to division and work with us.
“I am using this medium to wish all our stakeholders’ safe journey to the venue and I am looking forward to the successful and a memorable Congress, ” he said.
