The Asisat Oshoala Academy will hold the second edition of SHE PLAYS project in Lagos on Thursday, 26 January 2023 at Asarudeen College in Isolo, Lagos State.
The recently established Asisat Oshoala Academy has been carving a niche for itself in the Nigerian football environment, as it has continued to impact positively in the life of girl-child in the country both in sports and education.
While the lucky girls who were admitted into the academy based in Lagos has been weekly exposed to the rudiments of football together with life skills training, the Asisat Oshoala Academy this January flags off the second edition of the SHE Project.
The SHE Project, an all-encompassing initiative, is designed as Sports Intervention, Humanitarian Intervention and Educational Intervention program for the targeted communities.
“The second edition of SHE project will hold in Isolo area of Lagos State. This is a Muslim school actually called Asarudeen College. We noticed most Muslim schools don’t allow their girls to participate in sports, and our goal is to make sure every girl child is not neglected, they should participate in sports along the combination of education and life skills. This will help them in the nearest future,” said Asisat Oshoala
Over 500 girls will participate in the second edition of the “SHE PLAYS” with Asisat Oshoala Academy. The event will also feature music, football basics life skills and education as well as mentorship sessions.
