Forty football academies across Lagos State are expected to take part in the inaugural edition of Star Youth Football League tagged ‘U -16 Youth League’
The league would commence on 4th,May, 2024 at the four designated centres in Ikorodu, Lagos.
Match cordinator, Kehinde Adeyemi told our correspondent that teams have started registering with the organisers with the sum of N50,000.
“The league is the first of its kind in Ikorodu because we are looking how we can develop and promote grassroots football in Ikorodu and its enirons.
“The league is for any academy that is interested and i am happy that we have received more clubs showed interest while some have completed their registration forms,”he said
Adeyemi said the participating teams would be divided into four and a winner in each group would qualify for the Super four.
“A winner in the super four would play in the state league and would be rewarded handsomely.We have two slots in Lagos FA for state league so we want to use our selected players of the league to represent us also in the state league, ” he said.
