Organisers of the Ikoyi/Obalende Redeemers Football Competition have sent letters of invitation to Redeemed Christian Church Of God Parishes football team, RCCG under Ikoyi/Obalende axis and stated the importance of the football tourney tagged ‘IKOBA Redeemer’s Cup’.
Chairman Organising Committee, Olayinka Shokoya disclosed that IKOBA Redeemer’s Cup is known to the RCCG in Ikoyi /Obalende, saying that he is impressed with the responses received from the interested parishes.
“We have sent invitation letters to some of these parishes and the feedbacks is very encouraging. Let me say that many of these parishes are interested in the competition and they are looking forward to the kick-off date,” he said.
Shokoya revealed that the competition is put together by Davidhall Sports management and Ikoyi/Obalende Football Coaches Council to bring the round leather game to the parishes and evangelise souls among RCCG in Ikoyi/Obalende exis.
He said the competition would create healthy rivalry among the parishes and also make Christian youths to show more interest in football.
