The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) is celebrating the 2024 Children’s Day with a message urging kids, parents and guardians to be cybersafe.

The NCC in the message on its official social media channels on Monday warned the children that in as much as they must surf the net and be exposed to internet, they need to be cautious and be mindful of what they expose themselves to.

The NCC says the children should keep their identity safe and secured by “not share your personal information such as name, picture, phone number and school name to strangers online.”

The children should always use their phone where their parents can see them by not being too privacy.

“This helps keep you safe and build your parents trust in you,” the NCC says.

“Don’t click on prop-ups, links from websites, messages or while gaming online as these could take you to risky websites that can compromise your personal information.

“Stop and think before you click to connect,” the NCC’s Children’s Day messages read.
