The maiden edition of the highly anticipated Okeyson Cup would kick off on 21, August,2022 at the LSDPC Estate, Isolo, Lagos.
The tournament which lovers of football in Isolo are looking up to will be a show of talented players ready to brighten their career as individual prizes, credible and football scouts will be on ground to scout for the best legs in the tournament.
Chairman of the organising committee, Okechukwu Ejimah popularly known as Okey noted that the aim of the tournament is to give back to the society.He further explained that what he achieved today also contributed by the youths in Isolo and it’s environs saying that sponsoring a competition of this magnitude was to give back to society where he grew up.
“The aim of this Okeyson cup is to bring youths together, make them lively, see football as a means to foster unity in the community and also give back to the community because they are part of my success story.
Before now, I was nobody in the community, the youths made me who I am today, for this tournament, we will be having 16 teams where the winner will be going home with 250 thousand naira, second will be going home with a hundred thousand naira and the 3rd is fifty thousand naira.
“We have also contacted established, credible and known football scouts and intermediaries that will be on ground to scout for the best players in the tournament and nurture them to stardom.” he said.
