President of Christ Ambassador Soul Winners Ministries International, Cardinal James Omolaja Odunmbaku vowed to use the football tournament being sponsored by humbeld self to win souls for Christ.
Odunmbaku disclosed this while he received the main organising commiittee of inaugural edition of Odunmbaku Gold Cup in his Church recently.
While addressing the committee led by Prince Sulaiman Gbadamosi ahead of the commencement of the tournament scheduled for October 8, 2023, the cup donor revealed that he is not sponsoring the tournament for monetary gain but rather to use the tournament to win souls for Christ and empower the youth through football.
“I am happy to receive the members of the commiittee in our midst.The competition is well known in Lagos, and we want to use this tournament to win souls for Christ and secondly to empower our youths who are gifted in the round leader game.
“I am using this opportunity to inform the participants that teams would be rewarded handsomely while outstanding players and coaches would be rewarded too,” he said.
Responding, match coordinator, Gbadamosi expressed gratitude to the Cup donor for his commitment to the tournament and assured him better organisation.
A total of 32 teams are expected to take part in the male category, while 16 teams would feature in the female category.
Among the teams registered in the male category are PACOS FC, El Shaddai FC, ibafo, Seaman FC, Gunners FC, RCCG FC, Horobo FC, Eagles Assembly FC, Binnero FC and Bright stars FC.
In the female category, some registered teams are Victory Queens, Royal toms FC, Success FC, English Queen FC, Future star Queen, Flourish Queen and Ijamido Queen.
