The 12th edition of Obafemi & HID Awolowo Memorial Cup Finals would hold tomorrow (Sunday) at the Remo Stars International Stadium,Ogun State, Nigeria.
In the U-10 boys category final, Fortune FA from Oshodi, Lagos clash with Remo Stars U-10 by 3pm.
In the U-17 girls category, Super Master Queens from Ikorodu would battle STM Dove Queens from Ojota by 1pm.
The tournament is being sponsored by Obafemi Awolowo Foundation in memory of the late Obafemi Awolowo and his wife for their contributions to the social, economic and and political development of the country since Nigeria got her independence in 1960.
Speaking ahead of the finals, chairman organising committee, Ganiu Olawale stated that all the necessary things have been put in place to stage a colorful and memorable finals and urged the finalists to give their best.
“We are all looking forward to the exciting finals in both categories.All the finalists have done well on their way to the final and we want to see the teams that would win this year’s edition.
“On the part of the committee, we are good to go because all the necessary things we needed have been provided so we wish our invited guests from Lagos and Ogun safe journey to the match venue and also wish the finalists best of luck in their outings,”he said.
Meanwhile Winners would go home with the sum of N200,000 with a trophy, while second and third position would pocket a sum of N150,000 and N100,000 as fourth position would receive a sum of N50,000 respectively in both categories.
