Oba Akran Cup: Chekas United Were Not Lucky Against Heritage, Says Udoh

Head Coach of Chekas United, Moses Udoh has reacted to team’s loss in the semi final match against SC Heritage of Oba Akran Cup which held on Friday at the Ojo Cantonment Barrack Camp 4 Medical Center.

Chekas United lost 1-3 on penalty shootout after barren draw at the regulation time.

Udoh who spoke to our correspondent after the pulsating tie boasted that his boys gave their best but they were unlucky during the penalty shootout.

“It was not a bad outing for us.My boys played well but they were not clinical in the front of goal and we were unlucky during the penalties which cost our defeat”he said.

In his own comment, Heritage coach,Dominic Okata said his boys were better and deserved the victory.

He admitted that their opponents were tough but thanked God that his boys won through penalties.

While chairman Chekas United, Chekwube Uzoegbu expressed disappointment with the team’s inability to create some scoring chances during the encounter.

He however tasked his coaching crew to work on the attacking line noted that his team lack goal scoring against Heritage which may affect them in subsequent competitions unless something is done in the attacking line.

In the second semi final, JP Young stars also defeated Bilda FA 5-4 on penalties after one goal apiece at the regulation time.

Heritage and JP Young Stars would face each other in final of Oba Akran Cup.
