*Condoles family of late Saidu Abdullahi, president of Taekwondo

Meanwhile, Engr. Habu Gumel, president of the NOC, has condoled with the family of late Saidu Abdullahi, president of Taekwondo, saying “we in the Olympic Movement Nigeria are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Saidu Abdullahi.”
Until his demise, he was the serving President of the Taekwondo Federation of Nigeria, a respected member of the Olympic Committee’s board, and Chairman of the NOC Finance Committee.
A statement released on behalf of the Movement by Tony Nezianya, its public Relations Officer, said his untimely departure is a significant loss to the sports community in Nigeria and beyond.
During his tenure, Saidu demonstrated exceptional leadership and unwavering dedication to the development of Taekwondo in Nigeria.
The Taekwondo helms man’s commitment to nurturing talent led to the emergence of outstanding athletes, including the remarkable Elizabeth Anyanacho, OLY, who proudly represented our nation at the recent Paris Olympic Games.
Saidu’s contributions will be remembered as vital to Nigeria’s sporting legacy.
”His passion for Taekwondo, vision for the federation, and commitment to the empowerment of athletes have left an indelible mark on the sport.
