Nigerians Won't Forgive NFF If Eagles Fail To Qualify For 2026 World Cup- Oseni

BY SUNDAY AKINTOYE

A popular Arise News TV presenter, Rufai Oseni has sent a strong warning to Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) that Nigerians and football fans will not forgive the football ruling body if Super Eagles fail to qualify for the next FIFA World Cup.

Eagles drew their two World Cup qualifiers, the result which has put the country in dangerous position on the table.

Oseni on his comments Monday morning on ‘The Morning Show’ on Arise TV, expressed great concern over the poor performance of the senior national teams against Lesotho and Zimbabwe.

“We have started again on a poor note. If the Super Eagles fail to qualify for the next World Cup, Nigerians and fans won’t forgive NFF,” said Oseni who was disappointed with the performance of the Eagles against Zimbabwe.

In his own comment, Dr Reuben Abati, also lambasted the Eagles for their poor outings in the two matches, saying that it is shameful to see how Nigerian team struggled against Zimbabwe.

“It is shameful that the Eagles recorded only two shots at goal throughout the encounter. Our goalkeeper was disappointing, and the coach should retire Uzoho because he has embarrassed the country,” he said.

Nigeria next match is against South Africa at home in June 2024 before they will play against Benin Republic in Cotonou.
