The Theatre Commander Joint Task Force (JTF) Northeast (NE) Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), Maj Gen Gold Chibuisi has charged troops of 144 Battalion (Main) Nigerian Army, to deal decisively with the remnants of terrorists in the command’s area of responsibility.
He gave the charge on 16 November 2023, while addressing troops of 144 Battalion in Madagali Adamawa State.
Gen Chibuisi who was on an operational visit to the Battalion, encouraged the troops to consolidate on the successes recorded during their operational engagements against terrorists, emphasising that they were better poised to defeat the insurgents.
He expressed confidence in the troops’ capabilities and assured to address all the challenges and concerns raised for better efficiency and operational proficiency.
Similarly, the Theatre Commander addressed the hunters working in collaboration with the Army and thanked them for their efforts and urged them to advise farmers to desist from going to areas marked as unsafe for farming activities. He enjoined them to continue to support the Army to finally rid the area of terrorists.
Earlier, the Commanding Officer 144 Battalion Lt Col B Clarke who welcomed the Theatre Commander and other senior officers, gave a brief on the activities of the Battalion, assuring that the Battalion would improve on the observations raised and upscale their operations.
Present during the visit were the GOC 7 Division Nigerian Army/Commander Sector 1 OPHK Maj Gen PP Malla, Commander 26 Task Force Brigade Brig Gen SU Abubakar, Commander 28 Task Force Brigade Brig Gen BO Amakor and other senior officers from Headquarters Theatre Command and 7 Division Nigerian Army Maiduguri.
