FC Nduka Ugbade football team managed to beat their counterparts, FC Dominic 1-0 Wednesday morning in the round of 16 of the ongoing Nigeria Ex Internationals Cup taking place across centres in Lagos.
Simon Cletus scored in the 15th minutes to give Ugbade hard fought victory over their opponents.
FC Ugabde would play return leg at away in few days to come. At least Ugbade must avoid defeat in the return leg.A draw is enough for FC Ugbade to book a place in the quarter final.
While FC Dominic need at least two unreplied goals to seal a quarter final berth.If FC Dominic win by a lone goal, the two teams would go on penalty shootout to decide the aggregate winners.
In another match, FC Ikpeba played 1-1 with FC Ipaye football team.FC Ikpeba need to avoid defeat in return leg while FC Ipaye just need outright victory to reach the quarter final.
Speaking after the match, Wasiu Ipaye who was in charge of his team boasted that his team would go for victory in their retun leg comes on Friday.
“It was a good match for us and my boys were determined to get a point from the enconter.We are going back home to prepare well for return leg because the qualification is in our hands now and it is left for my players to take their chances in the return leg,”he said.
