Another match that would catch the attention of the followers of the ongoing Nigeria Ex Internationals Cup is a match between FC Friday Expo football team and FC Waheed Akanni football team sheduled to hold on Thursday by 12noon at the Maracana Stadium, Ajegunle, Lagos.
The first leg held at FC Akanni ground and it ended 3-2 in favour of the home team and the return leg would be a tough match for Akanni boys as opponents are ready to turn the table around.
Speaking ahead of the crunch tie, the head coach of FC Akanni, Waheed Akanni himself admitted that his team would face tough match in return leg but remained optimistic that his boys are equal to the task.
“It is a match the organisers would pay attention to considering how tough the game was in the first leg.My friend, Friday Ekpo has a good team and we are aware of their threat in the return leg.It is going to be a tough match and it can go either way,”he said.
Asked if his team would go far in the tournament, former Flying Eagles player quickly said all the teams have equal chance to go far and assured their fans that his boys are mentally and physically prepared to go beyond the first round of the tournament.
Meanwhile the round of 32 return leg continues this week as FC Benson Edema welcome FC Enegwae on 11th by 12noon at the Maracana Stadium, Ajegunle.
FC Temile would be a guest to FC Agbai on 13th, by 11am at the FIFA legacy pitch of National Stadium, Surulere, while FC Rufai Host FC Okpara on 15th, by 11am at the Mind Builders School, Ikeja.
