NFSC Boss, Ikpea Mourns The Death of Nigeria’s Goalkeeper Legend, Peter Rufai

National Chairman of the Nigeria Football Supporters Club, (NFSC) Rev. (Amb.) Samuel Ikpea has joined the Nigeria Football Community to mourn the death of former Super Eagles goalkeeper, Peter Rufai, whose demise was announced on Thursday.

Ikpea who received the news with shock and expressed his condolence on the demise described the death as a huge shock to Nigeria Football.

“We are shocked to hear this”, Ikpea started. “Rufai was a goalkeeper who was committed to the team back then and was in goal when Nigeria conquered Africa to win the AFCON for the second time in 1994”.

“He was also part of the team that made Nigeria’s debut at the World Cup in 1994 where the team stunned the World by finishing top of the group with six points and qualified alongside Argentina and Bulgaria”.

Ikpea, who could not hold back his feelings on the loss, further said that the golden generation of 1994 who made our nation proud.
