The country’s telecommunications regulatory body says it will hold a public inquiry on the Spectrum Roadmap 2025 – 2030, Guidelines for the Use of the 60 GHz for Multi-Gigabit Wireless Systems and the Guidelines for the Use of the Lower Part of the 6 GHz Band for Wifi-6 In Nigeria
In a public notice by Nnenna Ukoha, Head, Public Affairs Department of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) the body notifies telecom licensees, investors, telecom stakeholders and the public that, in exercise of its functions under the Nigerian Communications Act (NCA), 2003, the Commission has published the following Draft Regulatory Frameworks on its official website and sought comments from stakeholders: Spectrum Roadmap 2025 – 2030, Guidelines on the use of the 60 GHz band for Multi Gigabit Wireless Systems and Guidelines on the use of the lower part of the 6GHz band for Wifi-6 in Nigeria.
In accordance with Section 58 of the NCA 2003, the Commission hereby invites all stakeholders to a Public Inquiry on the above draft regulatory frameworks, scheduled to take place as a hybrid event (physical with remote participation) from 19-20 January, 2026 at the Auditorium, Communications & Digital Economy Complex, Plot 1253, Cadastral Zone C06, Mbora District, Abuja, FCT, Nigeria by 9am prompt on both days.
