NCC, Consumer Protection Commission Sign MoU To Protect Rights Of Telecom Consumer

The Executive Vice Chairman of the Nigeria Communications Commission (NCC), Dr Aminu Maida, took a step further to ensure that the rights of consumer are protected within the ambit of the law in the country as he hosted the Chairman of the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC), Mr Tunji Bello to a meeting in Abuja where a deal to work together for the benefit of the industry stakeholders was broker.

Dr Maida said the meeting with the FCCPC was in furtherance of the NCC, under his watch, to resolve to protect telecommunication consumers.

He said : “Mr. Tunji Bello of the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC) and I today (Tuesday) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on behalf of our two institutions—the FCCPC and the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC).

“This MoU establishes a framework for collaboration between the NCC and the FCCPC to protect and strengthen consumer rights in Nigeria.

“Together, we will ensure fair competition and safeguard consumers in our fast-evolving digital economy.”
