Team Lagos athlete,Aminu Haleem Omoniyi who was among the players that received bronze medal in the male football event at the just concluded National Youth Games held in Asaba has revealed why he dedicated his bronze medal to Chairman of Royal Titans Football Club, Obajide Ife-Adediran.
Omoniyi was invited from Royal Titans Football Club of Ikeja to Team Lagos ahead of National Youth Games.
While speaking with our correspondent after he returned from Asaba, Omoniyi thanked his club chairman for giving him the opportunity to showcase his talents in the National Youth Games noted that his performance at the just concluded games was impressive.
“Scoring two goals in the National Youth Games is something I cherish in my footballing career.My contributions to the team was appreciated.
“I want to thank my club chairman for his support and I want to use this medium to dedicate my bronze medal to him as part of my appreciation,”he said.
Omoniyi who also thanked his coaching crew for having confidence in him said his target is to represent the state in the forthcoming National Sports Festival in Enugu next year boasted that he is ripe enough to compete in the biggest sporting events in the country.
He explained further that his experience he garnered from the just concluded National Youth Games has prepared him for future challenges and admonished the coaching crew to consider him for 2026 National Sports Festival zonal eliminations.
In his own comment, Chairman of Royal Titans FC, Ife-Adediran commended Omoniyi for his successful outings in Asaba and described him a promising player who has a brighter future in his career.
“What can I say than to commend my boy who lived up to expectations in Asaba.Scoring two goals in the football event showed that he distinguished himself as a good and promising player.
“Also, dedicating his bronze medal to me gives me joy and I thank him for honouring me in this way.I wish him best of luck in his career and we are going to welcome him in a big way when he returns to the club,”he said.
