Choplife Gaming, which operates online sports betting franchises in five African markets, has partnered with Rwanda’s largest football club, Rayon Sports Football Club.
As part of an agreement with Rayon Sports Football Club, Choplife Gaming will appear on the left sleeve of the club’s jerseys next season in the Rwanda National Football League.
The partnership also includes investments to promote the Rayon Sports brand locally and internationally, as well as funds for talent acquisition and talent management.
Rayon Sports FC is the most popular club in Rwanda, famous in the region as well as on the African continent. Famously known under the nickname “Gikundiro” (translated as ‘dearly loved’). The club was established in 1965 and was given legal status in 1968. Since then, Rayon Sports Football Club has gone on to win more than 35 trophies.
An elated president of Rayon Sports FC, Jean Fidele said: “We are delighted and grateful for the support from Choplife by signing as Rayon Sports F.C. as sleev sponsor.
”We are also glad that this sponsorship fosters a strong relationship as we embark on two exciting seasons that lie ahead.”
Evalde MulindinKaka, Acting Director General at the Ministry of Commerce and Industry said: “As the regulator of the gaming sector, we ensure that companies operating in Rwanda comply with applicable regulations, but otherwise we strongly support responsible development initiatives like this one, particularly in the gaming sector.”
P.M. EXPRESS reports that the partnership is part of the sustainable investment program of the Choplife gaming community.
“Through the Sustainable Social Investment program, we partner with organizations that have a positive social and economic impact on the communities in which we operate,” said Aimee P. Cyuzuzo, Country Manager of Choplife Gaming.
Adding: “As part of this campaign, we will identify both for-profit and not-for-profit organizations across five markets that meet socio-economic community impact criteria.”
Meanwhile, Choplife Gaming has named Tanzanian music icon Nandy as its first brand ambassador.
As a brand ambassador, Nandy will be primarily involved in selecting, supporting and activating all of the brand’s sustainable community investment programs across Africa.
Faustina Charles Mfinanga, popularly known by her stage name Nandy, is a Tanzanian singer, songwriter, and actress. She was born and raised in Moshi, Tanzania in Kilimanjaro Region. She won the All-Africa Music Awards twice in the best female artist in the East Africa category in 2017 and 2020.
