Nigeria’s sports business expert, Chief Bukola Olopade, the Managing Director of Nilayo Sports Management Limited, has expressed his delight on sucessful election of the former Enugu State Chief of Staff and Commissioner for Finance and Economic Development, Barrister Peter Mbah, as Enugu state Governor-Elect.
He noted that, the Governor-Elect’s vast experience as a former member Federal Accounts Allocation Committee, the Enugu State Executive Council, Enugu State Security Council, Chairman, Federal Accounts Allocation Committee’s Sub-Committee on Legal Matters, Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Enugu State Insurance Company, and Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Enugu State Finance and Investment Company. And founder, Peter Mbah Foundation (PMF), a not for profit and non political organization aimed at improving standards of living in rural communities and human capital development, will help tremendously in shaping his path towards effective governance of the state.
Olopade also disclosed that Mbah, one of the 2005 Newswatch Magazine ten most outstanding Commissioners in Nigeria award winner, is a young man who loves sports and would invest in the sector.
Barrister Peter Mbah a Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, governorship candidate, was declared winner of the March 18, 2023 gubernatorial election in Enugu State, when he polled 160, 895 votes, to beat second place Labour Party candidate Chijioke Edeoga who polled 157, 552 votes, while Frank Nweke, a former Minister of Information, of the All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA, came third with 17, 983 votes.
