Organisers of the ongoing Lagos Mainland Unity Cup have applauded the teams for high level of professionalism and spirit of sportsmanship displayed since competition kicked off last week at Ojoniyu Sport Center, Mainland.
Chairman Organising Committee, Adekunle Adebanjo told our correspondent on Monday that he is happy and satisfied with the conduct of the participating teams and urged them to keep on the momentum.
“The competition is meant for only footballers who are 40 years and above and I am happy that the teams keep to the rules and regulations.
“Secondly teams do come early to the match venue and this is to tell you that the players are committed and passionate about the tournament.I wish they should continue in this direction so that we can have good tournament,”he said.
Meanwhile the tourney is taking place in two centers in Mainland such as Ojoniyu Sport Center and Evans Square Sport Center.
All the nine wards in Mainland are taking part in the tournament.Ward A football team played goaless draw with ward B in the opening match.
Action resumes on Wednesday by 4pm at Ojoniyu Sport centre as Ward E face Ward A , while Ward B tackle ward C by 5pm.
