Organisers of the ongoing Princesss Madojiemu U-15 School Athletics Championship taking place in Benin, Edo State have commended the performance of the participants in the day one of the event.
Technical Director of the event,Mutiu Oluwa told our correspondent on Thursday afternoon that the participants really prepared for the tourney and they had done well in their performance.
“The participants did not disappoint us in their performance.They really did well and i must commend them for their spirit of sportsmanship exhibited.This is to tell you that the event has started on good note.
Oluwa said it would be more tougher in Day two as many athletes would want to compete one another in the crucial stage and urged them to see the event a developmental where talents would be discovered for future national and international athletic championship.
Also speaking, the sponsor, Princess Mabel Madojiemu expressed satisfaction with the athletes and organisation of the event.
She said the participants surprised her with their impressive performance and noted that the future of track and field event is bright for the country.
Meanwhile the championship would enter Day two on Friday as 100M,200M and 400M semi and finals would be decided.Elites athletes would also involve in track and field events and winners would emerge in various events categories.
