Edo State/Madojiemu Schools U-15 Athletics Championship: Organisers Expect More Than 500 Athletes

Technical Director of the 3rd edition of Edo State/Princess Mabel Madojiemu U-15 All Secondary Schools AthIetics Competitions, Mutiu Oluwa has said that the organisers are expecting over 500 athletes to enroll for the two-day event in Benin City.

The much anticipated All Secondary Schools Athletics competitions will be held from April 25-26th, 2024 at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin City.

Oluwa said the competition is the talk of the town in Benin and its neighbouring states saying that the participants have started registering for the competition.

Organisers of the grassroots athletics competitions informed that events to feature in the 2-Day sports fiesta include 100/200m, 4×100m Relay, 400×100m mixed-relay, long jump, 800m, High jump, 1500m 400m, etc.

Athletes who emerge winners in the competition will win cash prizes, and receive certificates, medals and trophies.

Sponsor of the Championship and a member of the Edo State Sports Commission Board, Princess Madojiemu in conjunction with Austin Poland Oritshe, will observe, monitor and assess activities during competitions and may also recommend athletes for scholarships which the Madojiemu AthIetics Foundation will Sponsor.

The event is expected to start from 8am to 6pm each day with athletes screening and selections for competition with the issuance of running bibs.

Athletes’ registrations have commenced in readiness for the tournament.
