Chief Executive Officer of Madestone Football Academy, Mr Tobi Olubiyi has revealed his plans and team’s progress during a chat with Oyo State Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Honourable Wasilat Adegoke recently at the just concluded scouting football programme held at the University of Ibadan’s football pitch.
Olubiyi and Oyo State Sports Commissioner were among the football stakeholders that witnessed the scouting tournament held in Ibadan, Oyo State.
The scouting programme was organised aimed at unearthing the next generation of Nigerian football talent.
During their discussion, Olubiyi who doubles as Chief Coach of the academy shared insights into the academy’s mission and vision.
The football administrator highlighted the team’s achievements and his plans for the team in the years to come.
He furthered disclosed that the academy has made some progresses in different parts of the game since it was established and described the academy one of the best football academies that has structure in the state.
While commending the commitment of the staff and management for their unwavering support to the academy, Olubiyi also showered praises on his players who show high level of professionalism, discipline and dedication during the training session and match situations.
He explained that the academy has players in both boys and girls categories from age of 4 to 15 years old who are passionate about the round leather game.
Responding, Honourable Adegoke expressed delight at the opportunities given to the girl child, applauding Madestone’s inclusive approach to youth development.
She also expressed appreciation to Olubiyi for his commitment to the grassroots football in the state and promised to give the academy necessary support in its future programmes.
Furthermore, she assured Madestone Football Academy of her support, emphasizing the ministry’s openness to collaborating with organizations, focused on talent development within the state.
Meanwhile the football scouting event, hosted by former Minister of Sports Mr Sunday Dare, attracted a gathering of high-profile figures from the world of sports, including Europe-based football agent Roni Layous and Nigerian agent Ikoh Allah.
Their presence underscored the level of interest in discovering promising young players from across the region.
Olubiyi’s invitation to the event reflects the growing recognition of Madestone Football Academy’s role in youth sports development, and this collaboration with the state promises new opportunities to elevate local talent onto the global stage.
