LASU Professor Wins Distinguished Meritorious Obstetrics and Gynecological ICON Award

Professor Adetokunbo O. Fabamwo

The Association of West African Societies of Obstetrics and Gynecology (AWASOG) in collaboration with the West African College of Obstetrics and Gynecology (WACOG) has conferred the Distinguished Meritorious Obstetrics and Gynecological ICON Award on Professor Adetokunbo O. Fabamwo, in recognition of his outstanding contributions to the advancement of obstetrics, gynecology, and maternal health in Nigeria and across the West African sub-region.

Professor Fabamwo, who currently serves as the Chief Medical Director of the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH), is a respected academic, administrator, and medical practitioner. He has dedicated his career to reducing maternal mortality, advancing women’s healthcare, and mentoring the next generation of medical professionals. His leadership at LASUTH has strengthened institutional standards, enhanced patient care delivery, and positioned the hospital as a leading center of excellence in healthcare.
