More than hundreds of football fans and football stakeholders stormed Obele mini stadium, Surulere, to watch the exhibition match to herald the commencement of the Lagos Street Soccer which begins next weekend.
It was indeed a colourful ceremony on Sunday afternoon at Obele mini stadium as chairman of Lagos State Football Association board members LSFA, led by Ogboni Fouad Oki were in attendance.
Aside FA board members in attendance, Chairman Ikosi-Isheri LCDA, princess Samiat Bada and Commissioner of Youths and social development, Mobolaji Ogunleke were also in attendance.
Speaking at the official exhibition of Lagos Street Soccer, Princess Bada commended Lagos FA board led by Oki and organising commiittee for this initiative noted that the street Soccer would reduce the social vices in the communities.
“I must commend the Lagos FA board members led by Ogboni Fouad Oki for this initiative.The Lagos Street Soccer would curb crime among youths and it would keep them busy in the next 16 weeks,” she said.
In his own comment, Chairman Lagos Street Soccer, Bolaji Yusuf expressed satisfaction with the exhibition match saying that the street Soccer would kick off across local government as from next week.
In the exhibition match played, Wazbak defeated Middlewell 2-1 to herald the commencement of the long-awaited Lagos Street Soccer after six years absence.
