Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Lagos chapter has felicitated with the National President of the association, Sir Honour Sirawoo as he added another academic feather to his cap.
Sir Sirawoo, who is the Permanent Secretary, Rivers State Scholarship Board (RSSB) has successfully acquired PhD in Mass Communication from the Imo State University, Owerri, Imo State, southeast Nigeria at the convocation held on Saturday.
Chairman of Lagos State, Olatutu Oladunni said in a statement Saturday evening congratulated the president for not relenting, even despite what he has attained, he still found it worthy to aspire higher in his academic pursuits.
Oladunni said that members of Lagos State felicitated with him, his family, members of SWAN across the country as well as the government and the good people of Rivers State.
“My President, this is worthy of celebration and on behalf of tje Executive Committee and all members of Lagos SWAN, I say congratulations. This is honour well deserved,” Oladunni, who is also Director Carolkings Media Ltd and Publisher News Post magazine.
Sirawoo whose second tenure as President of SWAN is winding up, has initiated myriads of programmes and policies that have helped to redefine the association into an enviable professional organization, the world over.
Oladunni applauded the leadership style of Sirawoo who he said, together with members of his National Executive, handled the crisis in Lagos SWAN with wisdom at the end of which a new executive duly elected to steer the ship of the chapter to the promised land was put in place.
