Lagos Supremacy Cup: Our Intention Was To Beat 36 Lion, Says FC Bethel Coach

“Our intention was to beat 36 Lion unfortunately we lost the match.I am not happy and i am very disappointed with the outcome of the game despite the effort of my players throughout the encounter”

These were the words of FC Bethel coach, Nathaniel Olagunju after his team narrowly lost 0-1 to defending champions, 36 Lion Football Club of Lagos at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena formally known as Onikan Stadium.

Olagunju who commeded his boys for their gallant performance saying that defeat was a wake up call and vowed to win their remaining matches.

He revealed that their opponents were not better but were lucky to have won the game.

Reacting to the victory, 36 Lion coach, Akinsola Akinrele admitted that his boys were lucky to win their opponents saying that both teams are equally good.

“Of course we were lucky to have won the game.Our opponents are a good side too but i must confess that my boys were more fitter than them.I expected a tough match anyway but the most important thing is to win your game and progress to the next stage of the tournament,”he said.

Isa Mohammed goal in the first half was 36 Lion needed to defeat FC Bathel in an encounter watched numbers of football scouts who came from various European countries to watch the Day one of the football scouting progrmme being organised by Alhaji Liameed Olawale Gafar.

In other results Broad City humbled FC Corinthians 2-1 as D10 played 1-1 with SG FC.Six matches would be played tomorrow in the Day two of the tournament.
