Head Coach of Young Strikers Football Club of Lagos Island, Waheed Kosoko, said their home match against Chekas United Feeders on Wednesday is a must-win at the Maracana football pitch, Ajegunle, Lagos.

Young Strikers would host Chekas United Feeders in their week seven by 8am which was earlier postponed last week.

Both teams need the victory to boost their position on the log. Young Strikers are currently in fifth position with 6 points in the Atlantic conference group.

A win for the homers would jump them to second position on the table, while a defeat or draw would keep them in the same spot.

On the other hand,. Chekas United Feeders are occupying third position on the table with 8 points. A win would see them occupy second position on the table with a match in hand.

Speaking ahead of Wednesday’s crucial match, Young Strikers Coach, Kosoko, expressed confidence that his boys are in good frame of mind to win against their opponents.

“We have not lost our home matches, and our match against Chekas United Feeders would not be difficult. My players are in high spirits and ready to secure the three points at stake.

“The organisers have released the table and we are in fifth position, so a victory would lead us to second position, so there is a need for us to win our next match so that we can fight for the super four play off,” he said.

Chekas United Feeders, Moses Udom said they would approach all their remaining matches like a cup final

“We started well, and we don’t want to lose focus. Our match against Young Strikers would be another tough match, but I am sure of victory at the end of the match. We are close to the table toppers, Team360, in the group, and we want to catch them by winning all our remaining matches,” he said.
