Despite 1-0 away defeat to Bucknor Football Club in week 11 of the ongoing Lagos State League, head coach of Young Strikers FC, Waheed Kosoko believes that his team can still qualify for the super four playoff at the end of season.
Kosoko in a chat with our correspondent described their last match against Bucknor unfortunate and sad one saying that his target now is to win their remaining matches.
“The race for super four playoff is still open in Atlantic conference group and I still believe that we can still among the top two teams that would go through in our group.
“Our defeat against Bucknor is a temporary setback but we still have two or three matches to play so we need to win all our remaining matches now and secure a place in super four,”he said.
Kosoko, however, commended his boys despite the defeat in their last match saying that his opponents were lucky to have won the game.
“I must commend my boys for their fighting spirit against Bucknor.My boys played well throughout the game unfortunately we missed some scoring chances especially in the second half,”he said.
Meanwhile the Chief Executive Officer of the Lagos State League, Wale Joseph has showered encomium on teams and club Owners participating in the league for both the male and female category.
He noted that the league has lived up to expectations in area of officiating and standard of play by participating teams.
The veteran Journalist turned administrator stated that he is very impressed with the level of discipline, professionalism and conduct of teams and their officials, reminding them to continue to uphold such level of character even as the league hits crescendo.
