Team360 Football Club Tuesday afternoon stopped Lekki Junior Strikers unbeaten run in week three of the ongoing Lagos State League.
Before the encounter, Lekki Junior Strikers won their two matches, but they lost 3-0 away to Team360 at the Legacy pitch of the national stadium, Surulere Lagos.
Ogah David’s super goal in the 10th minute gave Team360 early lead. The homers took control of the game and their effort paid off when Adams Daniel scored the second goal for Team360.
The Lekki Junior Strikers failed to convert their few scoring chances created in the second half. A header from Raheem Muiz in the 72nd minute condemned Lekki Junior Strikers to a total defeat.
Reacting to the victory, Team360 coach, Shola Raji expressed satisfaction with the outcome of the game and commended his boys for a job well done.
“It was a well-deserved victory for us but we still need to remain focused in our next game. Our opponents gave us a good fight, but my boys were better than them in the encounter, “he said.
While Lekki Junior Strikers coach, Omozojie Henry said he was not too worried about defeat but remained optimistic that his team would bounce back in the next game.
Meanwhile, the Chairman of the Organising League Committee, Wale Joseph expressed his delight that the league is getting better each week and urged the coaches, managers and club owners to continue adhering to the rules governing the game.
He disclosed that the committee would not condone any conduct that is against the laid down rules during and after the match.
He however said the committee is committed to giving all the clubs level playgrounds, noting that any club that found wanting during or after the game would face disciplinary actions.
