Lagos State League: Give Us Neutral Match Officials, Osondu Tasks Organisers

Chairman of Badagry Divisional Football Association, BDFA, Dr Martins Ibeagbu Osondu has begged the organisers of the ongoing Lagos State League to appoint neutral match officials to handle all matches in Badagry Division State League DFA playoff.

The state league began across five divisions in the state recently. Two matches were played today in Badadgry division as Osondu received different complains from club coaches and owners concerning biased officiating of the match officials.

Osondu in his voice message drop on the social platform called on the organizing committee headed by Wale Joseph to stop appointing members of Badadgry Referee Society to officiate any Badadgry teams in the ongoing Lagos State League.

While chatting with our correspondent on phone on Monday evening, Osondu said he had informed the organisers earlier not to appoint any referee from Badadgry which the organisers agreed and when the appointment came out,it was Badadgry referees which some club owners and coaches complained about during and after their game.

“Let me once again appeal to the organisers not to give us Badadgry referees again for state League Divisional play off.I did not say our referees are not good but the club owners, coaches and players prefer neutral match officials to handle their matches.I want the organisers to consider our appeal and give us neutral referees for the next matches,”he said.

Meanwhile, in the two matches played on Monday in divisional playoff, Chekas United lost 0-1 to Young Strikers as Heritage FC shocked Badagry United 1-0.
