Technical Director of Arubinjaga Football Academy, Adeboye Riliwan Adebayo, has expressed optimism that his team won’t be relegated following their three defeats suffered in the ongoing Lagos State League.
Adebayo said this after his boys lost 2-0 to DN10 Football Academy in away game played last weekend.
Out of four matches played so far, Arubinjaga lost three and won a match, but they still have a match at hand.
The embattled club would be at home on Wednesday to face SGH Sports by 3pm at the Eleja Primary School field, Igbogbo, Ikorodu.
Speaking on the performance of the club in the league, Adebayo, who doubles as Chief Executive Officer of the club confessed that his team did not start well and insisted that the club would still remain in the league next season.
“It was not a good start for us because we lost three matches which is not a good result for us, but the coaching crew and players are working hard to bounce back in their subsequent matches.
“It is obvious that we are down on the table, but I want to assure our fans that we won’t be relegated at the end of the league,” he said.
Commenting on the Wednesday match, Adebayo said their next game would be tough but urged the players and coaching crew to live up to expectations.
“SGH Sports are a very good side too. We respect them as a team, but we are not afraid of them. I expect my boys to raise their game and ensure that they pick a maximum points at the end of the match,” he concluded.
