Following the back-to-back defeats Arubinjaga Football Academy of Ikorodu suffered in the ongoing Lagos State League, the club chairman, Adeboye Riliwan Adebayo still remains optimistic that his team still stand to qualify for the Super four at the end of the league.
Adebayo disclosed this after his team lost 1-0 away to Ibeju Lekki United last weekend.The defeat put Ikorodu boys in relegation zone but they have two games at hand.
While reacting to the defeat with our correspondent, Adebayo said he was worried as a club owner with the back to back defeats but noted that the race for super four is still opened to all the teams as at now.
“Of course nobody is happy with the situation we found ourselves in the league.The coaching crew are not happy and I am not happy too but it is not over yet and the race for super four is still opened for all the teams.
“The players should wake up from their slumbers and turn things around in their next match. What we need now is to try as much as possible to win our next game so that we can remain in contention,” he said.
Arubinjaga would still be away against Utmost FC on Wednesday by 1pm at Unizee Football Academy field,Agbowa,Sagamu Road.
Arubinjaga would still play its resheduled away match against DN10 FA on Saturday by 3pm at the Ibeju Lekki, Lagos.
Action resumes on Tuesday in week five as Team360 FC welcome Young Strikers by 1pm at the FIFA legacy pitch of national stadium, Surulere, while Diadem Stallion host Chekas United Feeders by 3pm at the Lagos State Polytechnic sports center,Isolo.
Three matches line up on Wednesday when Unizee FC would be at home against Ibeju Lekki United,while Ighalo would be a guest to SGH Sports by 2pm at Airforce base, Shasha,Akowonjo as Heritage FA host Lekki Junior Strikers by 3pm at Ojo Cantonment Barrack.
