The Lagos State Sports Commission, LSSC, under the leadership of Executive Chairman,Sola Aiyepeku and Director General, Oluwatoyin Gafaar, has raised the bar that the commission would continue to promote sports development especially at the grassroots level.
The atmosphere at the Volleyball Court, Teslim Balogun Stadium, Surulere, was filled with fun, dancing steps as the Commission marked its end of the year activities and channel ways out for a prosperous new year “2023”.
Executive Chairman, Lagos State Sports Commission, Sola Aiyepeku said the atmosphere was encouraging and it’s time to show more care for one another rather than focusing on other things.
He stressed that the avenue was to build a stronger bond, unity within the members of the sports family for the purpose of achieving the targeted objectives.
Aiyepeku said, “We need to drive associations for a better development of sports in all ramifications as grassroots sports is inevitable for overall development”.
In his submission, the Director General, Lagos State Sports Commission, Oluwatoyin Gafaar, highlighted that the event is an opportunity for all the members of the sports family to seat together, talk, have fun, forged ahead to make commission a better place.
Gafaar urged members of the staff to make an impact, leave a mark on the floor of the commission together and at individual level.
Gafaar said, “We need to ‘care’ about ourselves as the theme says, and how to push the sports commission forward and the state in general for sports development”.
Some of the activities earmarked for the end of the year party tagged “I Care” are Ludo and Ayo Games, dancing competition, singing of Old School day rhymes, and prizes were also doled out to the early birds.
Present at the party were board members of the Lagos State Sports Commission and the State Sports Association Chairmen led by Mrs. Biola Lawal.
