Organisers of the forthcoming Lagos Peace football competition have read a riot act to participating teams to abide by the rules and shun soccer violence that may tarnish the image of the aside tournament which begins on Sunday at the Akinola football pitch, Aboru, Alimosho.
This was disclosed by match cordinator, Gift Anderson at the draw ceremony of Peace Cup held recently in Lagos.
Addressing the participants, Anderson emphasized the importance of adherence to competition rules and warned any team found misbehaving would face serious consequences.
Anderson also highlighted the tournament’s plan to invite football scouts, NPFL, and NNL coaches to come around for scouting during the competition.
Four matches would be played on Sunday as Crown Stars face Wameerah FC by 10am. Destiny tackle Go Xscober FC by 12noon, while Club Athletico confront Excel by 2pm as Sizoko tackle Junior Milan by 4pm.
In his closing remark, chairman organising commiittee, Dr Kolade Kolapo thanked the participants for their commitment showed before the draws and promised that the tourney would be better organised this year than the previous editions.
The event was attended by notable guests including Mrs. Jadesola Adelabu, President of the Sapphire Nigeria Women Supporters Club, Mr. Seun Ogunowo, Alh. Hazeem Apata, and several others.
