The identity of the police officer who shot and killed Mrs Bolanle Raheem, a Lagos-based lawyer, a pregnant woman and lead consultant of Croston Homes in Lagos, has been revealed. The Spokesman of the Lagos State Police Command, Benjamin Hundeyin, named the killer cop as Drambi Vandi.
The killer cop is said to be detained and undergoing thorough interrogation. Vandi is an assistant superintendent of police.
The killer policeman has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department.
Meanwhile, the two officers arrested with Dambri Vandi over the killing of Omobolale Raheem, are going to be released on today (Tuesday), the Lagos State Police Command has said.
They are to be released because preliminary investigation shows that they are not involved in the crime.
Mr Vandi and two other officers attached to Ajiwe police station in Ajah area of Lagos were arrested for allegedly killing Mrs Raheem.
Mr Hundeyin said the officers were taken into protective custody immediately and were later transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for thorough investigation.
A Premium Times reports says that the two police officers arrested with the ASP were detained for interrogation and testimonies.
“The two policemen arrested with ASP, who killed the lawyer, will be released today (Tuesday) after giving their testimonies to the command.
“They were arrested because they saw what happened. They were not the ones who allegedly killed the woman.
“They have given their stories on what happened, and the CP has ordered that they should be released while investigations continue,” he said.
