The Lagos FA State League is set to kick off on the 21st of this month for the 2025/2026 season. A successful press briefing/ draw, including a seminar, was held on Friday at the Teslim Balogun stadium.
The event, which was highly engaging, interactive, and educative, attracted stakeholders from all walks of life to ventilate ideas and tutor the clubs on modern club administration.
Speaking after the Draw, the league’s Chief Executive Officer, Wale Joseph expressed delight that last season was a huge success as there were no major incidents while noting that it means more work in the new season.
According to him, 20 teams will participate in the male category this year as against 14 teams last season, while 14 or 16 teams will battle it out in the women category, which had 12 teams last season.
Teams were lectured on laws of the modern game by a seasoned FIFA referee, Olayinka Olajide, as well as there were talks on clubs leveraging on the use of the social media by a PR expert, Mr. Toyosi Oyetunji and medical and first aid by Dr. Tajudeen Sule, while Dr. Femi Abioye gave insights on various insurance coverage for players and officials sighting the importance of insurance in modern-day football
The teams were drawn into the Mainland and Atlantic conferences for both the male and female categories.
The Mainland Conference in Men category are Arubinjaga FA, Unizee FC, Ibeju Lekki United, AMA Smile FC, Top FC, Prodigy FC, Valour 1107 FC, Utmost FC, FC Brave SI and Tuto Atlanta FC.
Atlantic Conference has Team 360, Chekas Feeders, Emajus FC, Young Strikers FC, Olufunke FA, Bucknor FC, FC Germstone, Heipziban SC, Power of the Cross FC and Ecas FC.
The fixtures for the matches will be released in the coming days while the league officially kicks off April 21 with the star matches.
