Chairman Lagos State Football Association Electoral Committee, Alhaji Azeez Tijani has assured all the candidates who are interested to contest for one position or the other in the state football ruling body a fair and credible elections.
Tijani disclosed this in a chat with our correspondent on phone that being a chairman of electoral committee, his major primary responsibility is to conduct free and fair elections and assured all candidates a level playground.
Tijani who who was the chairman electoral committee of Lagos FA elections from 2011 to 2015 said the electoral commiittee is ready to conduct credible elections and urged the candidates to shun campaign of calumny.
“Let me use this medium to tell all the candidates that they should be rest assured of credible elections and I will be fair to all of them.I was appointed based on my integrity and i am ready to give my best and ensure that all candidates are treated equally.
Tijani cautioned candidates not to see this election a do or die affairs saying that any candidate emerges winners should be supported by other contestants so as to move football forward in the state.
Meanwhile the Lagos FA elections would come up next month. Presently only president of Sporting Royal FC, Igbasan Opeyemi officially declared his intention to contest for chairman seat in Lagos FA elections.
Others are yet to declare their intentions, but our correspondent gathered that the likes of outgoing vice chairman of Lagos FA, Otunba Tade Azeez, Tajudeen Ajide and 36 Lion, Olawale Liammed Gafar are planning to throw their hat into the ring to know who would become next chairman of the state football ruling body in the next few weeks.
