The elections of delegates for the Lagos State Football Association elective congress was nearly marred by the desperation of some unscrupulous persons who attempted to position themselves as delegates of the Lagos State Coaches Council, which is one of the 14 designated eligible voters for the FA proper elections.
It was thanks to the eagle-eyed members of the coaches council, who quickly informed the State Coaches Chairman, Tairu Hassan to the presence of two persons allegedly claiming to be members of the council. It was discovered that the the two impersonators named Wilson Otitoaja and a certain Cosmos, had forged documents claiming to be eligible delegates and voters representing Ikoyi-Obalende in the LDFA.
They were accosted and handed over to Police officers of the Area C Command, Surulere, who took them aways for further investigation.
Meanwhile, elections into the Ikeja, Epe and Badagry were successfully concluded and winners, subsequently sworn-in by the electoral committee led by Alhaji Tijani. Even as the LDFA elections and that of Ikorodu DFA, which was declared inconclusive were postponed till Friday, May 19, 2023, at the same venue.
The list of eligible delegates for the Lagos FA Elective Congress include, Ikeja DFA, Badagry DFA, Ikorodu DFA, Lagos DFA, Epe DFA, Joy Cometh FC, FC Robo Queens, Dannaz FC, Unification FC, Young Stars FC, Dosu Joseph FC, AS Racines FC, Lagos State Football Coaches Association, and Lagos State Referees Council.
