Striker of Robo Dream 2 Reality FC, Samuel Ndubusi Ononiwo said his target in the ongoing Lagos State Challenge Cup popularly known as Lagos FA Cup is to score more goals for his club.
Former FC Royal Titans, Ononiwo who was loaned to Robo Dream 2 Reality FC scored a brace against Toma Football Club which ended in a 2-2 full-time in the round of 64 of the Lagos FA Cup.
The match which held over the weekend at the legacy pitch of national stadium, Surulere ended in stalemate.Robo Dream 2 Reality won the penalty shootout 5-3 to qualify for the round of 32.
Speaking after the match, Ononiwo said he was happy to have scored brace for his team and noted that his target is to score more goals in subsequent matches.
“It was a good outing for me and this is my first time playing in Lagos FA Cup. Scoring two goals in a match showed that I could score more goals in our next game.
“I thank my teammates for the confidence they have in me because my two goals were a collective effort of the team and I dedicate our victory to the entire team,”he said.
Robo Dream 2 Reality would face Vido 99 FC in the round of 32 on Thursday by 9am at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena popularly known as Onikan Stadium.
Asked about his expectations on Thursday’s match, Ononiwo said his fans should expect a good performance from him and charged his teammates to remain focused and determined to win against their opponents
“We are in a crucial stage now and I am ready for the next match.Like I said before I want to score in every match as a striker and my fans should expect better performance in tomorrow’s game,”he said.
Three matches would be played on Thursday at the legacy pitch of national stadium,Naths Boys face Seamoriow FA by 7am, Ikorodu City FC tackle Power of The Cross FC by 9 am, while Messiah FC confront FC Bethel promises to be tough.
Three matches will be held at the Maracana stadium, Ajegunle, while two matches will be played at the Onikan Stadium on Thursday.
