It was a celebration galore for the fans and players of Prince Kazeem Eletu Football Club following their 5-3 victory against Burna Boys Football Academy in the ongoing Lagos State Challenge Cup popularly known as Lagos FA Cup.
Prince Kazeem Eletu defeated their opponents on Monday morning through a penalty shootout after 2-2 full time at the Maracana stadium, Ajegunle.
With this victory, a semi-professional Lagos-based club, Prince Kazeem Eletu FC have zoomed Into the second round of the Lagos FA Cup.
Eletu boys who were wasteful in the front of the goal got the equaliser through Imram Adebayo in the 90 minutes to send their fans into wild jubilation.
Eletu boys were impressive during the penalty shootout as the players were focused and scored all their penalty kicks to confirm their supremacy over their opponents.
Fans, players and coaching crew of Prince Kazeem Eletu expressed delight with the victory as many of them congratulated one another for the hard fought victory.
Reacting to the victory, Eletu team manager, Eletu Muftau said the win was well deserved and commended the players for their resilience and doggedness exhibited until they got a late equaliser.
“It was a tough match for the players because our opponents gave us a good fight. Our last-minute equaliser was a turnaround for us and we need to commend our players for their fighting spirit and high level of commitment shown throughout the encounter,” he said.
