The Lagos State Football Association LSFA on Saturday morning held its State Extra Ordinary Assembly in line with Article 33 where it upheld and ratified the removal of the Lagos State Football Coaches Association (LSFCA) representatives from the Lagos FA Congress with immediate effect.
The Congress Members of the Lagos FA at the State Extra Ordinary Assembly unanimously voted for the removal of the LSFCA, based on gross misconduct, insubordination and other acts that ran foul of several sections of the amended 2023 Statues of the Lagos State Football Association.
The Lagos FA Chairman,Hajj Olawale Liammed Gafar who was unavoidably absent, but ably represented by the Vice-Chairman Adedotun Coker, reaffirmed its unflinching commitment to the development of football in the state, while also reassuring the football investors and stakeholders of the FA continuous stride in the advancement of football at all levels in Lagos State.
Speaking earlier at the event, before declaring the State Extra Ordinary Assembly opened, the Director-General of Lagos State Sports Commission, Lekan Fatodu, who was represented by the Director of Sports Development, Mr. Olumide Travih, said the Lagos State Government, through the Sports Commission, recognises and applauds the several efforts of the Hajji Gafar led Lagos FA, towards youth empowerment and development through football.
During the extra ordinary assembly, the LSFCA Secretary,Rasheed Sulaiman, 2nd and 3rd Vice Chairman as well as their provost were in attendance.
The Chairman Lagos State Football Coaches Association, Tairu Hassan joined the State Extra Ordinary Assembly through Conference Call.

The Lagos FA scribe revelead that LSFCA representative members who were in the comgress could not defend the questions put to them and the congress members unanimously agreed to remove them from the Lagos FA congress members for its body gross misconduct and insurbordination with immediate effect.
Akeem disclosed that LSFCA still exists as body in the state but its representatives are no more Lagos FA congress members.
“Removing LSFCA representatives from Lagos FA congress members does not stop the Lagos FA working with Coaches in Lagos State.
“However, the decision taken by the Supreme Body of Football in Lagos simply means that LSFCA under its current Chairman and Secretary leadership won’t be part of the decisions making body of LSFA anymore except they are admitted back,”he concluded.
