Lagos FA Boss Appointed As South West Coordinator For U-19 NPFL Youth Championship

The board of the NPFL has approved the appointment of Chairman of the Lagos State Football Association, Hajji Olawale Liameed Gafar, as the Zonal South-West Coordinator for the 2025 U19 NPFL Youth Championship.

The appointment letter signed by Secretary/Legal Adviser, Danladi Ibrahim, Esq, reads,

“This appointment is a fitting recognition of your extensive experience as a football administrator, your unwavering dedication to the growth of sports in Nigeria, and your well-known passion for youth development through football.”

Meanwhile NPFL U19 Youth League is expected to kick off in three centres from August 4th,2025.

At Ikenne centre, six teams are drawn in the zone. The teams are Remo Stars, Shooting Stars, Ikorodu City, Sunshine Stars, Kwara United and Bendel Insurance.

Six teams are drawn in the Kano centre, such as Kano Pillars, El Kanemi ,Katsina United ,Nasarawa United, Niger Tornadoes and Plateau United

At Umuahia centre, eight teams would slug it out. The teams are Abia Warriors, Akwa, Enyimba, Rangers, Heartland, Bayelsa United, Rivers United and Lobi Stars.

The two top teams on the log at the end of round-robin fixtures will qualify for the top-six finals that will be played to determine the overall champions.

The U-19 NPFL Youth League is a part of the concluded 2024/25 season activities.
