A Lagos-based chieftain of All Progressive Congress (APC), Prince Hammed Olanrewaju, has called on Nigerians to cooperate with the President-elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu when he resumes office on 29 May, 2023.
The former Lagos State governor, Asiwaju Tinubu, was declared winner by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for winning the last presidential elections which held on 25 February 2023.
Prince Olanrewaju while addressing journalists in Lagos during the week said the mandate of Tinubu is a Nigeria mandate and assured the citizens of good governance and better Nigeria.
“We are here to let Nigerians know that the mandate of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is a mandate from all Nigerians. At this moment, Nigerians should cooperate with the President-elect so that the country would be better for all of us.
” Asiwaju Tinubu is going to deliver the best for the country. He has prepared himself for the challenges ahead, and he is going to make a life better for the entire country. When he was a governor of Lagos, he did extremely well and now that he would become a president of Nigeria from 29 May, i strongly believe that he would not disappoint Nigerians,” he said.
Prince Olanrewaju, who had held several positions in Lagos APC and a pillar of the party in Lagos Central Senatorial District, also urged the leaders in various tribes to join hands with the incoming president so that Nigeria can move forward economically and politically.
He reminded Nigerians how Asiwaju Tinubu involved other tribes in his government when he was a governor of Lagos, adding that the president-elect would give every tribe equal opportunity to be part of his government.
“Our president-elect is not a president of one tribe, but he is going to be a president for all of us. I keep on saying this, let everybody join hands together to support him and move this country forward. This is not the time we are going to call for an interim government, but this is a time we need to rally round him and pray for him to succeed,” he said.
President of Lagos State Hoteliers Association, Oluomo Jamiu Talabi, congratulated Tinubu for being declared the winner of the 2023 presidential elections.
He pleaded Tinubu to remember the hoteliers in his government and urged the people of Nigeria to support him and allow peace to reign in the country. He also congratulated Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu over his victory in the last gubernatorial election in the state.
“Our association did our best in mobilising our members for both the presidential and the governorship elections in Lagos. Our members cut across all the tribes in Nigeria, but we stood with Tinubu and Sanwo-Olu during the elections, and we are happy today for the victories,” Oluomo Talabi said.
