The Public Relations Officer of the Owerri Metropolitan Council of the Knights of St. Mulumba Nigeria (KSM), Sir Odinakachi Anyanwu, has announced that arrangements have been finalized for the burial of Lady (Ezinne) Bernadette Chinwendu Njemanze, beloved wife of the Owerri Metro Grand Knight, Sir Eva Njemanze, who was called to eternal rest on Friday, August 29, 2025.
Speaking with our correspondent in Owerri, Sir Odinakachi noted that the entire Owerri Metro Council has been in mourning since the sad news broke. He emphasized that all efforts are now directed toward supporting the Metro Grand Knight to ensure his late wife receives a befitting and dignified burial.
“This is the time for all of us to rally behind Sir Eva Njemanze, our Metro Grand Knight,” Sir Odinakachi stated.
“We expect all knights in the Owerri Metro to be present in solidarity and to pay their last respects to the deceased as we perfect final arrangements for the burial.”
According to the official programme released by the family, the Vigil Mass will hold on Monday, October 13, 2025, at the Knights of St. Mulumba Hall, beginning at 4:30 p.m. The final burial rites will take place on Wednesday, October 15, 2025. The full details are contained in the programme made available to the Council.
“It’s indeed a trying moment for Sir Eva Njemanze,” Sir Odinakachi said.

“We understand how difficult this period is for him, and the best we can all do is to come out en masse to console him as his wife makes her final journey home.”
He further disclosed that the Supreme Council of the Knights of St. Mulumba will be in attendance at the burial. He also encouraged all 65 sub-councils under the Owerri Metropolitan Council to ensure they are duly represented.
Sir Odinakachi concluded by urging all knights and ladies to remember the deceased in their prayers and to ask God to grant Sir Eva Njemanze and his family the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.
