Head Coach of Kingspor Football Academy, Adeduro David still commended his players despite 2-1 defeat against Prince Kazeem Eletu Football Academy in Lagos.
After humiliating Sporting Football Academy, 7-3 recently, Prince Kazeem Eletu boys defeated Kingspor on Thursday in a friendly match played at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena formally known as Onikan Stadium.
Speaking after thr encounter, David admitted that the game brought the best out of his players but frowned at the poor finishing which denied them from winning the encounter.
“It was a tough match for both side and i must commend Eletu boys for giving us a good fight.My boys equally played good football unfortunately our finishing was poor.We created some scoring chances in the encounter but we could not convert them which denied us to pick a valuable point from this game,”he said.
Asked if Eletu boys justified the victory, David said the better side won but insisted that his boys had the opportunities to win the game in the first half.
In his swift reaction, Eletu Coach, Isreal Adegolu also showered praises on his players for their doggedness and commitment against their opponents saying that the victory was well deserved.
“It was a good outing for us not because we won but the players were able to play to instructions.I always said that i am not after result particularly but i am more interested in the development of the players.I saw some of my players today that did well and I will continue to work on them until they are matured and ripe for future challenges,”he said.
Meanwhile Eletu boys had a bright start. Wasiu Paraiso who gave a good account of himself throughout the encounter missed clear cut chance in the early game.
After playing for 14th minutes, Kingspor player, Rasheed Qudus scored at the close range to take early lead.
The early goal motivated Eletu boys to increase the tempo of the game as Sulaiman Lawal began to dazzle with his killer passes from the midfield which put their opponents under pressure.
Their effort was quickly paid off in the 18th minutes when Eletu defender, Chukuwuma Obidiegwu was lucky to have scored through corner kick to bring the game 1-1 scoreline.
The game was very interesting as the two teams entertained football fans with their football artistry.Paraiso scored for Eletu towards the end of the first half but quickly disallowed by match Official for off side reason.
The second half was a good one for Eletu boys.They started the second half with the high level of commitment as Ibrahim Bature finally fired a shot in the 58th minutes to beat opponents goalkeeper and sent his teammates into wild jubilation.
It was a tough match indeed for Eletu boys, but they were commended by their resilience, doggedness and fighting spirit exhibited towards the end of the game despite the missed chances created by opponents in search of the equaliser.
