36 Lion began its campaign on Monday morning with 2-0 victory over Ikorodu City Academy in the opening group match.

He also blamed his players for not taking their chances and vowed that their next match is must win if they want to keep hope alive.
“It was a good match unfortunately we lost to a good side.We are equally a good side but I think my defenders lost a little bit concentration in the process and we missed our chances,”he said.
36 Lion Coach, Akinshola Akinrele said the victory was well deserved but warned his players against complacency.
“Of course we started well but we still have two matches to play and see how we can get the results from these two matches.Like I said my boys started well and they deserve my commendations,”he said.
